Childhood memories are valuable gems that people hold on to. What this indirectly means is that they naturally agree, unwillingly, how better life was as a child. True value is normally given to something that is good and it happens subconsciously without one realizing how much value they are giving. This, therefore, goes on to show how good and true childhood was.
It’s highly unlikely for decisions that children make to get affected by situations like pleasing friends, reaching goals, or getting money. A child makes decisions that makes them happy, it’s that simple. The reason most adults miss being a child is that as one grows, the need to make decisions where one ends up vanishing. It disappears yet the importance remains the same. Leonardo Davinci was right when he once said happiness is the end game and every other decision made is dependent on this factor. A person that makes decisions based on every other thing is statistically proven to end up even more miserable than before. The fact reflects quite well when people start talking about missing childhood.
Another reason is that human beings have control over most things but time still manages to escape their grasp. The linear attribute of time amazes people and it’s among the major reasons why people miss childhood memories. Time passed can never be recovered and when people think of all the time they’ve been around that transformed into only memory they get amazed. That feeling of amazement is then expressed as “childhood memories being great”.
